VONA Foundation Hosts Practical Seminar for Self-Employed Professionals and Business Owners
VONA Foundation hosted a practical seminar on insurance and accounting for self-employed professionals, small business owners, and aspiring entrepreneurs in Canada. Participants received expert guidance on insurance, taxation, bookkeeping, risk management, and effective business operations.

VONA Foundation recently hosted an educational seminar focused on insurance and accounting for self-employed professionals, small business owners, and individuals planning to start their own businesses in Canada.
One of the key missions of VONA Foundation is to support entrepreneurs by providing practical knowledge, professional guidance, and opportunities for growth. Through educational events and networking initiatives, the Foundation helps business owners access valuable information and connect with experienced professionals in various fields.
The seminar featured two expert speakers:
• Kateryna Doruk — Insurance Broker
• Iryna Spirke — CEO of Accounting House Company Inc.
The speakers delivered informative presentations covering essential aspects of insurance, risk management, taxation, and accounting for self-employed professionals and business owners.
Participants learned about business, home, and auto insurance, common insurance mistakes, financial risks, tax obligations, bookkeeping requirements, and practical strategies for managing their businesses more effectively.
One of the most valuable parts of the seminar was the opportunity for attendees to ask questions about their individual circumstances and receive guidance directly from the experts. These practical consultations can help entrepreneurs avoid costly mistakes and make more informed business and financial decisions.
A special highlight of the event was a festive prize draw supported by OFAD. Nearly every participant received a thoughtful gift generously provided by members and community partners. The prizes included gift certificates, skincare treatments, jewelry, discounts on professional services, and other special offers.
We sincerely thank our partners for supporting the event and contributing gifts:
• OFAD
• Nadiya’s MediSpa
• Luda Zakharchuk
