In 2021, Canada actively joined the global environmental initiative Greening of the Planet.
The project was implemented with the support of VONA Foundation and Business Woman PRO Canada.

Tree planting took place across the country — from Mississauga and Toronto to Oshawa and Quebec — including both organized events and many individual plantings by community members in different provinces.

Thanks to the outreach efforts of VONA Foundation, the Ukrainian community across Canada was actively engaged and united around this initiative.

The project received strong support from local municipalities, including Toronto City Council, Oshawa City Council, and the City of Mississauga. Mayor Bonnie Crombie personally supported the initiative, and with her team’s help, we were able to mobilize volunteers and scale the impact.

In 2026, we are continuing this environmental program.
The first tree planting event will take place on April 26.
